Dr. Greg Wolgin, DCDr. Greg’s Bio:

BACKGROUND

My name is Dr Greg Wolgin and I am the owner and Director of Chiropractic here at Peak Chiropractic and Wellness Center.  I began working at the office in early 2004, and I became the head chiropractor of the clinic later that year.

In 2009 we moved to our current location, easily found in the maps/directions/location section of this website. We are very excited and proud to bring you a pleasant yet professional atmosphere to help you find all of your health and wellness needs.

I grew up in West Bloomfield, Michigan—a suburb about 40 minutes outside of Detroit.  While it was a wonderful place to live and grow up from kindergarten through high school, I always had the feeling I would live in a different state.

Michigan can be an awesome place to live—we were so lucky to live near a ton of lakes and parks.  My family often vacationed to one of the greatest areas in the country; the northern part of the Lower Peninsula.  I went to summer camp in the Harbor Springs/Petoskey/Charlevoix/Cheboygan area for 10 years.

My parents, grandmother, brother (with his wonderful wife and amazing son, with another child on the way) and many of my childhood friends still live there.  Hence, I will always consider that my other ‘home’.

SCHOOLING

Growing up in metro Detroit, I went to high school at Bloomfield Hills Andover.  I attended The Ohio State University for a short time, before eventually finishing my undergraduate work at Eastern Michigan University, with a degree in psychology.

I attended Life University in Atlanta, Georgia for my pre-requisite and part of my chiropractic program.  I finished my chiropractic education at Life Chiropractic College-West, in the Oakland/San Francisco area, California.  The school is generally considered among the finest of all the chiropractic schools!

WORK/EXPERIENCE

When on vacation from the chiropractic program, I would frequently volunteer at 2-3 offices back in Detroit.  While still in school, both in Georgia and California, I volunteered and became an associate doctor in 3-4 more clinics. Upon graduating and receiving my license, I moved to Colorado and have worked in clinics in Colorado Springs, Aurora and Englewood—all prior to joining Peak Chiropractic and Wellness permanently.

I have been so lucky to have been able to watch, learn and have mentors in all of these offices.  Through all these great experiences, I believe I was able to amass the techniques and style of work I currently provide in my practice.

THE PERSONAL STUFF

I am a rabid, unapologetic sports guy.  Growing up in Michigan, we were able to play seasonal sports, and I was active in many of them, including soccer, tennis, golf, hockey, skiing, lacrosse, basketball, baseball and lots of water sports.

Nowadays, I am a crazed golf man.  I play as much as time allows and absolutely live for the sport.  I also still compete in a friendly softball league during the spring and summer, and make as many trips to the mountains during the winter to get some skiing in at our incredible choices of awesome mountains.

I do most of these things with my lovely wife, Emily.  She is a home grown and bred Colorado girl.  She grew up in Englewood, attended Cherry Creek High School, went to CU for undergrad and went to CU Health Science Center for her master’s and Physician Assistant degree.  She now works for a super busy plastic surgeon in downtown Denver.  We met in 2004, were engaged in late 2005 and got married over the July 4th weekend—at the incredible Hudson Garden’s here in town.  We live in the Denver suburbs.  She is an amazing tennis player and skier.

We also love to go and see movies, go to new and fantastic restaurants, see comedy shows, go for walks in the park and experience all our incredible city and state have to offer.

We are also very lucky to have her mother and her sister (with her husband) live very close by.  Her brother (with his wife and their amazing daughter) live near Ft. Lauderdale, Fl—a great reason to visit, as often as possible.

MY MISSION AND GOALS

I like to simplify things as much as possible.  I believe in chiropractic and all it has to offer, completely.  I believe in not just getting people out of pain, but removing their nerve interference, through the chiropractic adjustment—to live fuller, happier, healthier lives.  I believe in taking care of anyone who would like to live to the fullest—infants, children, pregnant women, teenagers, young adults, middle age and the elderly.  I believe that once we can get you out of discomfort, that we should all fully understand what it takes to maintain your wellness.

I also believe in treating a practice member in any way that can help them-safely and smartly.  Besides the chiropractic adjustment—I am always searching for technology and equipment that can better my performance, better the care we provide-to give any practice member the best chance of recovering, stabilizing and flourishing (see the area on the site that talks about ‘The Clinic’ and ‘What to Expect’ to find out more).

If someone were to ask me what kind of technique I use, I would answer with ‘the one that helps each practice member the most’.  If you would like it named, I guess you could call it 'Dr Greg’s technique'.  Having studied and utilizing so many different techniques-I believe that it is the wide array of knowledge and analysis that help me make the best plan and care for practice members.  Standard hands-on adjusting, equipment related care, many adjunctive therapies—all can be done to any person.  I base my technique and style of treatment on the practice member—based on their interest, comfort level and tolerance.  I do NOT believe in forming one technique and trying to fit it into each and every persons care.

My goal is to have the one-stop shop clinic.  We can usually find a way to help with pain relief, BUT there is so much more involved here.  We can help out with diet, nutrition, exercise and stretching programs, stress management, posture and ergonomics of daily life, infant/child and pregnancy information and lots and lots of kinds of physical therapy.  All with the same goal—to help each and every practice member, the best way possible.

I will say the following often, and mean it to the core of my being—HEALTH IS NOT PURELY THE ABSENCE OF SYMPTOMS, CONDITIONS OR DIS-EASE.  IT IS THE OPTIMAL FUNCTION OF YOUR BODY, MIND AND SOUL FOR A FULL AND HEALTHIER EXISTENCE.  This is the essence of chiropractic and what I hope to bring to everyone who steps through our door.
